Two point-of-sale terminal makers recently introduced new products or updates to their product lines.

France-based Ingenico S.A.’s new iPP320 and iPP350 PIN pads include integrated contactless, magnetic stripe and contact smart card readers. The iPP320 has a monochrome screen and the iPP350 a color screen, and merchants may install either on a counter or with a movable arm.

The devices also feature LED lighting near the three readers to indicate where shoppers should use their cards.

Meanwhile, Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Hypercom Corp. says its L5300 and L5400 multilane POS terminals have achieved compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. The company announced the products earlier this year (see story).

Merchants may connect either device to any POS register via a variety of connection methods, Hypercom says. The L5300 multilane terminal has a 5.7-inch touchscreen, and the L5400 is a keypadless version merchants may use as a barcode scanner for price checks in shopping aisles.
