Ingenico Group has expanded its iWL series of mobile terminal solutions to include a new Wi-Fi enabled model.
The French terminal maker's new Wi-Fi model adds to the existing 3G wireless and Bluetooth versions, the company said in a March 31 press release.
The entire iWL series of smart terminals can accept all EMV cards and mobile contactless payments such as Apple Pay. Additional features include Ingenico's Telium2 platform and support for point-to-point encryption technologies.
Adding the Wi-Fi option helps solidify Ingenico's ability to offer tableside payment solutions for larger merchants, such as restaurant chains, casinos and stadiums.
"This new Wi-Fi enabled addition to our iWL series ensures that Ingenico Group can meet the needs of any merchant that wants to implement a pay-at-the-table strategy, and in turn ensure EMV compliance," said Gregory Boardman, senior vice president of product and development for Ingenico Group in North America, in the announcement.
The new product will be sold in the U.S. directly to large merchants and through independent sales organizations and acquirers.
