Inside Contactless, a France-based vendor, has struck a deal to provide contactless readers for a French company that is deploying payment kiosks in the country. MobiNear's kiosk enables customers with contactless cards to access loyalty points and micropayment applications, Christian Chabrerie, MobiNear's CEO, tells CardLine Global. The company hopes to deploy approximately 1,000 kiosks in France over the next year. Consumers can use their Navigo transit cards, or private store cards, for transactions at the kiosks. The company also anticipates deploying the kiosks in London, where consumers use contactless Oyster transit cards. The readers provided by Inside enable consumers to make transactions using Near Field Communication, a short-range wireless technology designed mainly for mobile phones.
