Kuwait Finance House Co. Ltd. has launched a prepaid card targeting Kuwaiti youths ages 15 to 21, the Kuwait City-based bank recently announced.
The MasterCard-branded Hessabi chip-and-PIN prepaid card is available for free to customers who open an account with the bank. During a promotional campaign for the card that runs through the end of the year, new cardholders may also enter a sweepstakes to win Apple Inc. products.
As part of the Hessabi card program, the bank says each year it will put a portion of funds the accounts generate toward Sharia-compliant investments.
The Hessabi card will also provide cardholders with year-round discounts at popular local stores, the bank says.
