NCR Corp. is integrating SCVNGR's LevelUp mobile payment system with its Aloha POS system for restaurants.

LevelUp also plans to integrate with NCR Cloud Connect, which allows third parties to deploy their technology across NCR's install base of more than 100,000 merchant locations, the companies announced May 20.

"As the leading provider of technology to the restaurant industry in the U.S., NCR is committed to bringing a wide variety of in-house and third-party mobile and digital wallet technologies to our customers, adding more value to their businesses," said Kim Eaton, senior vice president and general manager of NCR Hospitality, in a press release. "Using this new integration platform, our customers can choose the technology that is the best fit for their operations and for delivering exceptional experiences to their guests."

LevelUp has pursued partnerships with several payment companies, including traditional companies such as Heartland Payment Systems and newer mobile-payment providers such as ShopKeep POS.

"LevelUp has always known that in order for mobile payments to become a standard for merchants, we need to provide a solution that seamlessly fits into their existing systems. The NCR relationship is significant because it makes using LevelUp simple for the tens of thousands of restaurants who already run Aloha," said Seth Priebatsch, LevelUp's "chief ninja" (CEO), in a press release. "NCR understands what it takes to help restaurants keep pace with technology, and by integrating LevelUp, we are helping them get the great tools they need to run their businesses better."
