LinkPOS, an iPad point of sale app provider, is using Merchant Warehouse's Genius customer engagement platform to increased payment acceptance and mobile functionality.
By integrating Genius, LinkPOS enables its merchant clients to combine mobile payment acceptance with coupons, rewards and loyalty programs. LinkPOS, formerly Olympus POS, focuses on serving small and medium-sized businesses.
"Having a high-quality POS system is a huge differentiator for small businesses, but realistically, may not be something they can afford. This is exactly who we built our iPad app for," says Steven Walter of LinkPOS, in a May 9 press release. "The Genius integration takes this a step further, opening a world of new opportunities for each of our customers as they explore new payment acceptance technologies and loyalty and rewards programs.”
As merchants become increasingly interested in replacing legacy point of sale systems, many companies are promoting iPads and other tablets as an option for payment acceptance. Square Inc. says its Register app for tablets can replace a traditional cash register. ShopKeep POS provides a cloud-based iPad point of sale system. And Cambridge, Mass.-based, Leaf offers a commerce-specific tablet with point of sale software.
Boston, Mass.-based Merchant Warehouse announced the Genius platform in June 2012 to allow merchants to accept a variety of current and future payment types. It was launched for general availability in January.
