The e-commerce technology provider Live Gamer Inc. is incorporating MasterCard's MasterPass digital wallet into its checkout services.
MasterPass, which was upgraded earlier this week to enable purchases from within mobile applications, is available immediately for Live Gamer customers. MasterPass allows consumers to make purchases with payment and shipping information previously stored with the digital wallet.
This process reduces shopping cart abandonment, increases sales and improves consumer loyalty, according to Live Gamer, which is based in New York.
"When it comes to digital content, consumers are extremely particular in getting what they want, when they want it. The greatest benefit of working with MasterPass means that we're able to remove the complications from the transaction process so that the consumer can get what they want faster, which is a top priority for the content provider," said Andrew Schneider, president and co-founder of Live Gamer, in a Feb. 26 press release.
Live Gamer's clients include Facebook, Tennis Channel, Sony Online Entertainment, Conde Nast, Take Two Interactive and Bloomberg Sports.
