Digital content providers will have more options to accept payments through Live Gamer Inc.'s Pay+ product.
Pay+, launched last week, allows providers to choose from among multiple payment methods in more than 180 countries, rather than accepting only credit cards, the New York-based digital commerce software provider says.
"Digital businesses today, especially small- and medium-sized businesses, love the idea of selling to a customer base worldwide but haven't had the tools to effectively manage the complexity of global payments," Live Gamer co-founder and president Andrew Schneider states in a press release.
The software will establish payments from credit and debit cards, online banking, prepaid, e-wallets and mobile wallets, and alternative payment methods. Pay+ will work in Canada, the U.S. and Europe, while also focusing on what the company considers "high-growth" markets in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Turkey.
The payment methods can be set up quickly and to scale to support any number of end users, Live Gamer says.
"Pay+ changes the game by breaking down the barriers and takes the hassle out of global monetization," Schneider says.
Pay+ allows users to configure a payment method through a step-by-step video tutorial, the company says. There is no need for content providers to integrate payment gateway software or specific payment methods to offer customers various payment options.
The software includes a live test in which the provider can simulate users from any supported country, Live Gamer says. A single agreement with Live Gamer reduces lengthy contracting cycles a well.
Pay+ handles Payment Card Industry data security standard compliance, fraud mitigation, sales tax handling and end-user customer support, the company states.
In addition to the step-by-step tutorial and live testing, Pay+ will feature a single HTML configuration file, localization in more than 15 languages, multi-currency support and administrative tools that include daily transaction reports.
Live Gamer provides e-commerce software for global digital providers in games, media, entertainment, finance and technology.
