Payment technology and service provider Mercury Payment Systems LLC has appointed Andrew Patterson to the position of chief technology officer.
Patterson will be responsible for software engineering, technology infrastructure, business intelligence, quality assurance and architecture, Mercury states in a Feb. 18 press release.
Mercury, of Durango, Colo., says Patterson brings more than a decade of technology and management experience to the role to aid Mercury's emphasis on small to mid-sized businesses.
"It's not every day that you find a person with this level of experience and skill set that so closely matches our hopes for this position," Matt Taylor, CEO of Mercury Payment Systems, states in the release.
Prior to his role at Mercury, Patterson served as the vice president of payments software and emerging products for Moneris Solutions Inc., a Canadian payments acquirer. While there, he headed technology initiatives including the design and development of products and processing systems. He also served as a director of software development at Moneris.
