MoneyGram has begun supporting transfers to any bank in Ghana.

Funds can be sent either online, on a mobile device, at a kiosk, a local store or any MoneyGram location. The received money is accessible through an ATM, in person or online.

The service aims to offer consumers in Ghana more digital transfer options while also expanding the company's digital growth. "We see a potential in the increasing adoption of banking services in Ghana and want to drive financial inclusion in the region by offering our consumers more digital money transfer options," said Grant Lines, MoneyGram's global chief revenue officer, in a press release.

Ghana is the fifth largest remittances recipient in Africa with $2.2 billion that flowed into the country in 2017, according to the World Bank. The United States and Nigeria are Ghana’s largest sources of inflow.
