Motorola Employees Credit Union has extended its contract with Discover Financial Services' Pulse electronic funds transfer network, enabling holders of its Visa check cards to use their PINs to pay for purchases nationwide and to withdraw cash at Pulse's network of more than 380,000 ATMs.
The Schaumburg, Ill.-based credit union's debit cards have supported Pulse since 2007. It chose to continue the relationship following a review facilitated by the Illinois Credit Union League Service Corp., Pulse said in a press release Aug. 30
"Debit plays an increasingly important role in how consumers spend and manage their money. This agreement with Pulse gives our members convenient and secure access to their checking accounts at merchant locations and ATMs nationwide," Michael Murphy, the credit union's executive vice president and chief operations officer, said in the release.
The agreement also includes the Pulse Debit Dashboard, a Web-based tool that enables the credit union to analyze the performance of its debit program, and the network's DebitProtect fraud-detection service.
Motorola Employees Credit Union, which has 39,000 members, operates 10 branch locations in Illinois, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts and Texas.
