The committee intends to inform ATM marketers of changes in ATM technology and regulatory requirements, provide updates on social media and search optimization, and share the latest marketing trends, the ATMIA said in a Jan. 22 press release.

The group hopes to disseminate that information through conference calls, Web seminars and face-to-face meetings, said Rebecca Hellmann, who handlesmarketing strategy for mid-level and community financial institutions for Cardtronics and is serving as co-chair of the new committee.

"Many industry marketing professionals have difficulty convincing upper management to invest in marketing," she noted.
