Youth payments company Oink, formerly Virtual Piggy, is expanding its international e-commerce presence by working with the payment service company GlobalCollect.
GlobalCollect processes international payments for over 600 e-commerce brands in the digital goods and services, travel, retail and video game industries. Its clients include Levi's, Sony, Estee Lauder and Valve.
The Amsterdam-based GlobalCollect processes payments in more than 150 currencies.
Oink enables young people to make payments within parameters set by their parents. Oink has traditionally specialized in offering payment technology for e-commerce, and it announced in late 2013 plans to also move into retail payments.
"We have many merchants worldwide who aim to reach the complex under-21 market who shop across many different channels, and this technology combines the security and simplicity required to effectively do so," says Stephen Buechner, chief credit and risk officer at GlobalCollect, in a May 29 press release.
