Global payments processor Optimal Payments Plc has reached a five-year agreement with Ontario Lottery and Gaming.
Under the agreement Optimal's NETBANX platform will be embedded into the PlayOLG website that offers regulated online interactive lottery, casino and video poker games.
NETBANX enables merchants to accept credit and debit card transactions directly from a bank, along with alternative and local payments, and real-time fraud and risk management, according to an April 22 press release. Online operators also include regulatory-compliant account funding, disbursements, and data management.
The NETBANX system will assist PlayOLG in offering an iGaming solution designed for regulated markets that is entertaining, safe and secure, says George Sweny, senior vice president of charitable and iGaming for OLG, in the press release. OLG has provided nearly $38 billion gaming facilities to the Ontario province since it was established in 1975.
This agreement is further evidence our strategy to extend our reach in the regulated North American online gaming market, says Joel Leonoff, president and CEO of Optimal Payments, in the press release.
Optimal Payments services are already used by major European regulated gaming operators. Over the last 18 months, the company has been expanding in North America, including Quebec in Canada and Caesars Interactive Entertainment, owners of the World Series of Poker in the U.S. Other recent moves include registering with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
