Paya makes an acquisition to boost its nonprofit payment reach
Paya has acquired Stewardship Technology, a Mount Vernon, Ohio-based payments facilitator primarily serving churches and nonprofits.
Paya was previously known as Sage Payment Solutions, and has been steadily increasing its B2B payments capabilities.
Founded in 2002 with a focus on religious organizations, Stewardship Technologies provides billing and payment processing for churches, charitable organizations and schools. Its solutions include an electronic giving platform enabling members and donors to make payments through online and mobile channels, including a Text-to-Give solution.
Nonprofits and charitable organizations are a frequent and early adopter of digital payments technology.
Under the new ownership, Stewardship Technology’s MissionPay app will be added to Paya’s suite of solutions.
“With this acquisition, Paya will be primed to offer new capabilities and launch into new verticals that will support our continued growth,” said Greg Cohen, Paya’s president, in a Thursday press release.
