The credit card tech provider Paynet Systems has added a tool to its Credit Card Machine app that allows merchants to request reviews on social media at the end of a transaction.
The Social User Referral Encouragement tool, or SURE for short, asks users to provide reviews after they have made a payment using the Paynet app. If customers agree, they are emailed a request from the merchant. Once customers write a review, it is posted to their Facebook wall.
Merchants can also provide a default message for customers to use.
"The best time to ask for a referral is at the point of sale, since a payment signifies the completion of a successful transaction," Jack Chevalier, Paynet's president, said in a press release.
Paynet's Credit Card Machine app has been downloaded 200,000 times, the Alpharetta, Ga., company said in its release.
