Seeking a stronger foothold in the North American market, the Munich-based online payment processing and gateway provider Pay.On AG has formed a new unit that operates out of New York City.
Pay.On America Inc. will provide the company's cloud-based omnichannel payment services and gateway to U.S. and Canadian clients, the company announced April 2.
"There is a huge potential for development in omnichannel," says Annett van de Bunt, head of marketing for Pay.On, via e-mail. "Very few system suppliers provide omnichannel functionalities via one platform and this is what Pay.On does."
Pay.On felt it was important to establish a subsidiary to expand more quickly and efficiently in North America, where it already has some clients, van de Bunt says.
Pay.On's technology handles payment processes as well as fraud and chargeback prevention. The company also helps clients establish their compliance with the Payment Card Industry data security standard.
Last month, Pay.On set up a partnership with fraud prevention company Kount to combine the companies' distribution networks.
Pay.On provides service to more than 350 payment providers in more than 100 countries and says it will link its North American clients to South America, Europe and Asia.
