The PayPal Here mobile point of sale reader is now available on Android tablets, the eBay subsidiary announced Thursday.

Businesses can use the app to accept credit and debit card payments, and PayPal mobile payments. Other services include inventory management, sales monitoring, discounts, and taxes. The app was already available for Android phones, and the tablet version includes much of the same functionality.

The Android app will be available for download on Google Play in the U.S., U.K., Australia, Japan and Hong Kong.

PayPal Here has been adding new features over the past couple of months including reporting and tools for developers. The mobile point of sale app competes with a number of companies, including Square, and the recently introduced Amazon Register.

PayPal Here launched in 2012 as a triangle-shaped device that attaches to a smartphone or tablet's headphone jack to read swiped card payments. PayPal also debuted an EMV compatible version in the U.K. in August 2013. The EMV version communicates with a smartphone over a Bluetooth wireless connection.
