The Secure POS Vendor Alliance, a trade organization created earlier this year by the three largest point-of-sale terminal makers, announced today five companies have joined the group. Atos Worldline, a France-based electronic-payments company; Heartland Payment Systems Inc., a Princeton, N.J.-based payments processor; Moneris Solutions Corp., a Canada-based payments processor; Radiant Systems Inc., an Atlanta-based POS systems maker; and Witham Laboratories, an Australia-based payment-security company, are the first to join the group since Hypercom Corp., Ingenico S.A. and VeriFone Holdings Inc. formed the alliance in April to promote common security standards for POS devices (CardLine, 4/22).
