PreCash Inc. says consumers using its Evolve Money online and mobile application for cash bill payments will now have the option to use a debit or prepaid card.

PreCash announced its intention in August to eventually support payment cards in Evolve Money, the consumer version of its PayConnect business services.

The Evolve Money app will now accept Visa and MasterCard debit and prepaid cards as a way to add funds, the Houston-based mobile bill-payment provider states in a Dec. 10 press release. Consumers add cash to Evolve Money by purchasing REloadit Packs for $3.95 or Evolve Pay Bucks PINs for $3, both of which are available at thousands of retail locations, PreCash says.

"By adding debit and prepaid card payments, we are reaching a broader segment of consumers who are looking for convenience and a faster way to manage and pay their bills," Steve Taylor, CEO for PreCash, states in the release.

PreCash has positioned Evolve Money as an online and mobile alternative to a bank's bill payment service. Users do not need a bank account to pay bills with cash or a prepaid card.

"They can pay bills all at once, or one at a time, and they can pay more than 10,000 bills for free, or choose express payment for only $1.50 to avoid an expensive late fee," Taylor says.

It takes average consumers 30 minutes or more each month to pay bills, Taylor says.

"Evolve Money is a simple, convenient solution that can cut that time down to minutes, so they have time to do the things that really matter most," he adds.

PreCash offers payments services for retailers, financial institutions, businesses and consumers. The company focuses on walk-in bill payments, processing services for money transmission and prepaid access, and mobile and online bill payments.
