Phoenix Managed Networks has secured the services of a Canadian payments company to distribute routers and software for its PaySecure fraud-prevention service, the payment network services provider announced May 15.
Reston,Va.-based Phoenix established a multiyear reseller agreement with Prima Payments Corp. of Canada to distribute PaySecure to independent sale organizations that will focus on small to midsize enterprises across Canada, Phoenix stated in a press release.
Phoenix executives announced May 8 the company intends to promote the PaySecure product more heavily in North America after initial testing in the United Kingdom and hinted that announcements about client signings would soon follow (see story).
Prima Payments executives expressed concern about the level of complacency surrounding payment security in Canada, citing a recent incident in which hackers replaced point-of-sale terminals in Quebec with phony devices to duplicate users’ card details, the press release stated.
PaySecure is designed to reduce such fraud by simplifying payment security and Payment Card Industry data security standards compliance for merchants or the ISO’s who supply their transaction services, Phoenix stated.
“For ISOs and other technology resellers, PaySecure is an added-value service which they can white label as part of their own offering to merchants,” Dan Budhoo, Phoenix’ director and general manager in Canada, said in the release.
