Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union say it will pay members more than $6.6 million in debit card cash back later this month.

Members who used the MasterCard Freedom Check Card, the Live Oak, Texas-based credit union’s free debit card offering, to make purchases last year will receive a rewards check. The credit union is paying members 10 cents per debit card transaction, with a member-loyalty bonus in the last quarter of the year. From October through December, Freedom Check Card users earned 15 cents on each debit card swipe.

“At our credit union, we give our members many opportunities to save money and earn money,” says Sonya McDonald, the credit union’s senior vice president of planning and market development. “The fee-free Freedom Check Card and its cash-back reward program accomplish both, while at the same time providing an annual economic stimulus as our members spend and invest their rewards in their communities.”

Since the inception of the program, the credit union’s Freedom Check Card program has given more than $20 million back to Randolph-Brooks members.
