Evrofinance Mosnarbank, a bank based in Moscow, has begun issuing China UnionPay debit cards. The bank hopes to issue at least 10,000 cards within a year to Russian businessmen and consumers who visit China, a UnionPay spokesperson tells CardLine Global. In Russia, consumers can use the UnionPay cards at some 3,500 ATMs and 26,000 point-of-sale terminals that are part of the country's Union Card network. "Russia began accepting China UnionPay cards at its ATMs in March 2007," the spokesperson says. "With the alliance with Evrofinance Mosnarbank, we aim to expand UnionPay card acceptance in the country."
