Solvport, an ATM- and kiosk-services provider, Monday signed a contract to provide telephone support for kiosks deployed in an undisclosed number of casinos throughout California.

The Portland, Ore.-based company will provide full-time telephone support for 10 to 12 kiosks deployed by Automated Systems of America Inc., an independent sales organization based in Glendale, Calif.

"If casino personnel need more than telephone support, we will dispatch a technician," Shawne Carr, Solvport marketing manager, tells ATM&Debit News.

The ISO declined to disclose the names of the California casinos, but on its Web site the company says its "premium clients" include the South Point Casino in Las Vegas and Hilton Hotels & Casino Morongo, near Palm Springs, Calif.

This is Solvport's first contract to service kiosks deployed in casinos, and the company hopes to make more such deals part of its business, Carr says.

Automated Systems has deployed 3,200 ATMs in 48 states, according to its Web site.
