Sony Corp. now allows owners of the PlayStation 3 video game console to charge content purchases to their mobile phone bills with U.S. wireless carriers.
U.K. PlayStation owners have had this option since July through the mobile billing company Boku. A screenshot posted to Sony's PlayStation Blog indicates that the mobile billing service works only with AT&T and T-Mobile in the U.S.
The mobile billing option can be accessed from PlayStation 3 consoles and the Web to purchase games, movies, TV shows, music subscriptions and other digital content. The purchase amount is added to the user's next phone bill or debited against the user's prepaid phone balance, Sony says.
