Mobile commerce company Spindle has hired a Fiserv executive to be its interim chief executive.
Michael Schwartz was previously chief technology officer at Fiserv, an information management and electronic commerce systems company for the financial services industry. He is replacing Bill Clark, who had been CEO of Spindle since 2011, according to a June 13 news release. It did not indicate when Clark stepped down or why.
Schwartz is a payments industry veteran of 27 years whose work has spanned credit card processing, merchant acquiring, billing solutions, core banking, high-volume transaction processing and high-availability systems. Before working at Fiserv, Schwartz was chief operating officer at software company IP Commerce. He has also served as chief technology officer for TSYS Acquiring.
Spindle is a five-year-old company based in Scottsdale, Ariz. It provides unified commerce solutions for merchants.
