Spire Payments’ point-of-sale terminals will be available to merchants in Australia through a partnership with independent sales organization Keycorp Services Ltd.

Keycorp, which has more than 30 years of payments experience in the Australian market, will promote and support the entire range of London-based Spire’s products — including traditional and mobile POS devices, and software aimed at special services in the retail and mobile POS environments.

“We made a commitment to partners and customers at our launch event in October 2012 to bring about rapid geographic expansion and establish Spire Payments as a truly global player,” Spire Payments CEO Kazem Aminaee states in a Nov. 25 press release.

Keycorp says it will offer full deployment services for the Spire Payments POS products, from basic merchant installation to asset and complete fleet management.

“At a time when any number of new payment terminals and applications are appearing on the market, the combination of Spire’s terminals and Keycorp’s software development present an innovative and flexible approach to the efficient deployment of payments applications from desktop to mobile payment terminals,” Joe Bonin, CEO of Keycorp Services, says in the release.

Spire Payments now serves market segments ranging from financial and retail to hospitality and transportation through offices in Spain, the UK, the Czech Republic, Dubai and Hong Kong.

Last week, Spire revealed it would supply mobile chip-and-PIN payment devices for Smart TPE, Credit Agricole’s mobile point of sale project in France.
