Crimes involving ATMs are not unusual. In some cases, gunmen rob consumers as they withdraw money from the machines, or thieves steal the entire ATM, loading the machine onto a flatbed truck and driving off with it into the night.
Though Jessica Fuchs has heard some of these stories, she is not worried about the ATMs her organization recently deployed–in three Milwaukee police stations. "I don't think anything like that is going to happen to our ATMs," says Fuchs, business development coordinator at Prime Financial Credit Union.
