Cox Communications Inc. customers nationwide can pay their bills at kiosks or at walk-up payment centers as part of the Atlanta-based cable-television provider's expanded agreement with Tio Networks Corp. The deal enables Cox customers to pay at 18,000 payment centers and 1,500 kiosks nationwide, Hamed Shahbazri, president of Burnaby, British Columbia-based Tio Networks, tells ATM&Debit News, a CardLine sister publication. "The service appeals both to customers who pay with cash and customers who pay their bill the day it is due," Shahbazri says. "In this economy, the latter is a growing trend." Tio, an expedited bill processor, immediately will credit payments to customers' accounts beginning in the first quarter, Shahbazri says. Before Tio and Atlanta-based Cox expanded their relationship, Tio served Cox customers in Phoenix and Las Vegas, Shahbazri says. Cox is the nation's third-largest cable television provider based on its 6 million subscribers.
