Total System Services has signed a long-term acquiring agreement with Irving, Texas-based Anovia Payments.
Anovia Payments targets small to mid-size merchants. TSYS will provide Anovia Payments and its customers will full-service payment processing software and platforms, the Columbus, Ga.-based payment processor said in a Sept. 4 press release. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Anovia has both the commitment and energy to offer industry-leading, partner-focused payment solutions, and we are excited to be a part of their growth, Tim Munto, group executive of sales and client relations for TSYS Acquiring Solutions, says in the release.
Kevin Jones, president and chief executive officer of Anovia Payments, says TSYS will provide all of the transaction processing technology his company was seeking.
We were looking for a payments processor with a proven platform, high ethical standards, outstanding customer service, industry leading point-of-sale authorization capabilities and solid financial stability, Jones states in the release.
The agreement with TSYS makes business sense for Anovia, a startup that announced in April it had a goal of moving into the European market as well and operating in 23 countries by the end of this year.
Jones and Andy Meadows were formerly president and vice president of sales, respectively, for SignaPay. They launched Anovia Payments in late March.
At the time of the launch, Jones indicated that Anovia would handle its own processing.
