ProPay, a subsidiary of the processor Total System Services (TSYS), is working with ThreatMetrix to offer fraud prevention technology to its customers.
The companies are offering Guardian CyberShield, a cloud-based identity verification tool powered by ThreatMetrix that helps businesses differentiate legitimate customers from fraudsters.
The partnership provides TSYS customers with access to the ThreatMetrix Global Trust Intelligence Network, which reviews more than 500 million monthly transactions and monitors more than 160 million user accounts and 10,000 websites.
Through the Intelligence Network, Guardian CyberShield has the ability to validate a returning customer using trust-based authentication. The network allows businesses to analyze the digital personas of website visitors, such as their previous online behavior and payment history, before a transaction is authorized.
"While many businesses are challenged with determining whether or not an online transaction, account login or other activity is fraudulent, the Network provides TSYS Guardian CyberShield the capability to identify high-risk transactions in real time without disrupting the online experience of trusted customers," says Bert Rankin, chief marketing officer of ThreatMetrix, in a July 15 press release.
TSYS acquired ProPay, a Utah-based payment services and technology vendor, in 2012.
