Turkey's top court reportedly has ordered credit card issuers to stop charging cardholders annual fees. Banking officials in Turkey did not immediately respond to CardLine Global requests for comment on the reports. Turkish issuers routinely charge annual fees that range from 20 lira (US$16.50 or 10.40 euros) to 50 lira per card, reports say. Financial institutions have issued some 40 million credit cards in Turkey.
