Ukash, a British firm that sells prepaid vouchers for online transactions, said Wednesday it has made its first move into South America, through a deal with Rocalix SA. The deal enables consumers to buy Ukash vouchers from 300 shops operated by Redpagos, a Rocalix partner, the UK firm says in a statement. Consumers can buy vouchers worth US$20 (13.60 euros), US$50 and US$100, Ukash says. Consumers without access to cards usable online, such as national debit brands in Europe, or who do not want to use cards for online purchases, can use the Ukash vouchers and their unique 19-digit codes for Internet transactions. Ukash operates in at least 16 countries, a company spokesperson has said.
