Nadra Bank, with is based in Kiev, Ukraine, announced Tuesday it has agreed to purchase an undisclosed number of ATMs and transaction terminals from Wincor Nixdorf International GmbH, the world's second-largest ATM manufacturer.
Ukraine is the second-largest market in Central and Eastern Europe behind Russia for deployment of ATMs and cash dispensers, says Chris Herbert, an associate of Retail Banking Research, a London-based strategic consulting firm. In 2007, Ukraine was the third-fastest growing market in Central and Eastern Europe.
At the end of last year, 20,931 ATMs and cash dispensers were deployed in Ukraine compared with 13,744 deployments in 2006, Herbert says.
The bank is purchasing cash-dispensing ATMs, deposit-taking ATMs and more than 200 transaction terminals that enable bank customers to transfer funds and pay bills.
