UOL BoaCompra and Ubisoft are partnering to allow online personal computer gamers in Latin America, Portugal, Spain and Turkey greater access to local payment methods.
Through this partnership, UOL BoaCompra will enable large foreign and regional game developers and publishers access to local gaming markets. Additionally, Ubisoft's portfolio of online games in these markets will grow, the companies said in an April 23 press release.
Brazil-based UOL BoaCompra will also promote Ubisoft's game titles in Brazil through its content portals which aggregate more than 1.2 billion page views per month, according to the press release.
Several of the largest gaming companies including Valve, EA, Riot Games, Bigpoint, SmileGate and Aeria Games partner with UOL BoaCompra.
"Ubisoft is known for producing outstanding online titles; and Latin America and Turkey are no exception for the prevalence of this strong reputation," says Julian Migura, director of global business development for UOL BoaCompra, in the release. "We're looking forward to supporting Ubisoft's reach by offering local payment methods gamers have access to, which is paramount in emerging markets."
UOL BoaCompra is one of a number of technology companies targeting gaming payments. Fiserv, for example, recently updated its bill pay technology to accommodate gaming and social media.
