U.S. Bank, which has been aggressively building business payments technology, is adding Viewposts electronic invoice and payment network to the bank's website.
The network will be available for free to Minneapolis-based U.S. Banks approximately 1.3 million small business customers.
We believe this partnership will benefit the day-to-day operations of small business owners, Max Eliscu, founder and chief executive officer of Viewpost, which is headquartered in Maitland, Florida, said in a press release.
U.S. Bank is making a number of improvements to its business payments operation. It's added mobile technology to aid employee travel and procurement payments. And in 2013, U.S. Bank launched TravelVirtualPay, which provides a one-time-use virtual account number for each purchase.
The bank has also made moves on the business-to-business side, including deployment of a payment application that allows clients to integrate enterprise resource planning software from SAP with the bank's payment origination service.
