VeriFone Systems Inc. has launched card-payment software in the United Kingdom and Ireland that supports the processing and management of in-store, online and mobile retail transactions, the terminal maker announced June 13.
PayWare Ocius complements VeriFone’s existing PayWare Merchant Managed Service software and builds in offerings of Commidea Ltd., an established payment gateway in the UK and part of VeriFone’s acquisition in January of Point, a Sweden-based payments provider (see story).
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard-certified software supports all merchants, from sole traders to multioutlet retailers, and it manages a payment lifecycle from consultation and installation to processing, San Jose, Calif.-based VeriFone stated in a press release.
In addition,PayWare Ocius processes card-present and card-not-present transactions, including PIN pads, wireless or unattended payment devices, ecommerce, and mail and telephone-order payments, VeriFone said.
The timing of the PayWare Ocius launch couldn’t be better for VeriFone customers, contends Tony Saunders, VeriFone UK and Ireland vice president and general manager.
“Our customers increasingly need a payment services and support partner to manage not only card acceptance and PCI compliance, but also the growing variety of multi-channel services,” Saunders said in the press release.
The software supports gateway services, point-to-point encryption and multi-channel e-commerce processing, he added.
