Vindicia Inc. has expanded mobile-payment billing capabilities for its online clients who use the company’s cloud-based CashBox software, the e-commerce marketing and payments automation company announced Feb. 29.
Through a partnership with mobile-payments provider Boku Inc., Belmont, Calif.-based Vindicia provides a software upgrade that enables CashBox clients to add mobile-carrier billing, which in turn allows secure acceptance of mobile payments from consumers in 67 countries from more than 240 mobile-network operators, the company stated in a press release.
The addition of mobile-carrier billing to CashBox marketing and billing software for e-commerce merchants helps clients reach customers who pay with their mobile phones out of convenience or necessity, such as those without a credit card or bank account, according to the release.
With the mobile-pay option added, the CashBox billing software expands payment-method acceptance that includes credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, automated clearinghouse, prepaid cards, Boleto Bancario [a bank transfer pay slip option used in Brazil] and European Direct Debit, the release stated.
Adding mobile payment to CashBox addresses basic customer needs instead of just creating new software that leads to more mobile payment hype, Gene Hoffman, Vindicia chairman and CEO, stated in the release.
