Visa Inc. has launched a promotion in Japan during which cardholders at Tokyo International Airport, also known at Haneda Airport, can receive discounts when shopping in duty-free shops, a Visa spokesperson tells CardLine Global. Called the "Haneda Airport Japan Duty Free Campaign 2008," the promotion kicked off earlier this month and is scheduled to continue until October, the spokesperson says. The campaign is running in conjunction with another promotion called "Experience Tokyo with Visa," which is set to expire in June 2009. The latter offers Visa cardholders discounts at Tokyo merchants. Japan received more than 8.3 million overseas visitors in 2007, and the government's goal is to attract 10 million visitors per year by 2010.
