Wirecard AG has added a link to Google's search engine marketing service to its Checkout Portal.
The German payments company's new service supports Google AdWords for merchants who use Checkout Portal. The service will launch in Germany this July before spreading through the rest of Europe.
For the new offering, Wirecard has partnered with two companies that specialize in marketing through Google AdWords: telegate Media and easymarketing. The new service, which is aimed at small- and mid-size businesses, provides online campaigns that are meant to improve brand awareness and thus the merchants' conversion rate.
"These partners possess comprehensive expertise in the development, introduction and optimization of AdWords campaigns for merchants and [small- and mid-size businesses] at regional level," said Michael Jäschke, head of channel sales for Germany at Google Deutschland, in a June 10 press release. "This perfectly complements Wirecard's approach."
Available since 2014, Wirecard's Checkout Portal processes payments and can be presented as white label or co-branded.
