WorldPay has entered a five-year partnership to support payment processing for Direct Card Solutions, which specializes in serving the entertainment industry.
Direct Card Solutions offers credit and debit card processing for small to medium-sized businesses. Its clients include LS-Live Ltd., a rehearsal studio and stage equipment provider; Backstage Academy, a skills training destination for the production industry; and J and C Joel, a theatre curtains manufacturer and installer.
WorldPay will be the recommended provider for Direct Card Solutions, establishing a new sales force to sell its card acquiring services. WorldPay processes nearly half of all card transactions in the U.K. and Europe, it says.

"Our aim is to provide businesses in the entertainment industry with value for money on their card processing through our technology, support and customer service, and I am excited about how WorldPay can help us achieve that."
One in three shoppers are regularly bothered by how long it takes to pay, according to research by WorldPay that it plans to publish soon. Smartphone payments are preferred by 30% of consumers surveyed and text messaging payments are preferred by 23%, according to the research.
