Worldpay, a payments processing and technology company based in London, plans to move its U.S. headquarters to Atlanta.
The company plans to add 600 jobs over the next four years, it said in a Dec. 9 press release. It currently employs 671 people in Sandy Springs, Ga., a suburb on the northern side of the city. The move will begin in March 2015 and will last about a year.
"We considered a number of states besides Georgia for this move but access to talent and innovation opportunities were all key factors in our decision," said Tony Catalfano, the company's U.S. chief executive, in the Dec. 9 release.
Worldpay received a $1.5 million grant from the City of Atlanta to move its new headquarters to the city's midtown business district, according to the release.
