The money transfer services are now available in Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.
WorldRemit app users have had connections to Vietnam banks for more than a year, but now have the added option of sending money to Xpress Money payout locations.
“We want to offer our customers the widest and most convenient choice of payout options," WorldRemit CEO Ismail Ahmed stated in a Dec. 27 press release. "Xpress Money is a trusted and dependable money transfer brand with a fantastic network of agents across the world."
The partnership will extend WorldRemit's footprint into new territories and enable more people to make secure, instant money transfers, Ahmed added.
The new service also allows WorldRemit customers to send money that can be collected at more than 110 Xpress Money locations in Malaysia.
In Vietnam, transfers are available at more than 3,000 locations through the networks of Bank Mark, Sacombank SBR, DongA Bank, Vietnamese International Bank and Anh Quang JSC.
Nearly 1,000 branches of Government Savings Bank in Thailand are also now available to WorldRemit users.
"The remittance industry is at a juncture where is it necessary for brands to collaborate for the sake of the industry at large," Sudhesh Giriyan, chief operating officer for Xpress Money, said in the release. "We are happy to be setting the right example and hope for other brands to follow suit.”
The services of London-based WorldRemit, with U.S. offices in Denver, Colo., are available in more than 50 countries and 125 destinations for money transfers. Xpress Money, with regional offices in more than 25 countries, is available in 160 countries and 180,000 cash payout locations.
