ZipZap Inc. has added MoneyGram International’s 35,000 sites in the U.S. for consumers who prefer to pay for online purchases with cash, the company announced March 20.

MoneyGram’s U.S. network consists of retail partners that include Wal-Mart Stores Inc., CVS Caremark, Ace Cash Express, Advance America Cash Advance Centers Inc., Albertsons, Duane Reade Inc. and select 7-Eleven Inc. locations, according to a company press release. This increases the total number of U.S. locations able to accept ZipZap transactions to 45,000, the release noted.

The announcement comes a week after San Francisco-based ZipZap added 10,000 Softgate Systems Inc. locations to its network of payment centers to which consumers take their transaction vouchers and cash (see story).  And earlier this year, ZipZap partnered with secure payment provider SafetyPay to target cash-preferred travelers (see story)  and online gaming payment service provider Xsolla (see story).
